Hi Wes!!! I bought my machine a year ago and to be honest, I never thought that this machine were so fantastic !!! I can’t tell how much fabric I sewed, and she still like brand new. I make sure to do the maintenance every month to keep it in shape. Now, after saw your video, I love my machine so much more. What happened to the end of the video on fixing thread nests on the bottom of the fabric? It was great then went to a commercial and disappeared, leaving me waiting for the solution?

From what I hear, that motor sounds like a freight train. If the audio is accurate, the commutator needs reconditioning. The mica insulation is sitting proud of the copper. Good advice about being safe with electricity.

Can you help me please? I plugged a U.S. 140Volt Huskylock Serger, into a UK socket,and it tripped the fuse box. I bought a step down transformer,but nothing happens when I try to switch it on. 😢😓😓

I have singer quantum 9960 from past 6 yrs and has been running smoothly until one day it did not stop even after I lifted my foot from the pedal , it kept on , in hurry I tried n stopped it forcefully by holding the side wheel tightly instead I should have turned off the power switch. It’s not working from that day on. It’s really sad .do not know what to do n what has gone wrong with it. Can you please discuss such malfunctions in your future videos. It might be of help to many like me. Thanks a lot for this amazing effort🙏

I'm not sure about this 'Heavy duty' Singer sewing machine. Here in Europe we don't buy Singer anymore since it was taken over 20 years ago by another company. Pfaff, Bernina and Husqvarna are still the frontrunners. Experienced seamstresses would rather buy a second-hand version of one of these machines than a new Singer.

I need some help! I have a brother LS-2125i and i am sewing a continuous loop in 2in polyester webbing. I have tried every setting from 0-9, then made small adjustments to the bobbin tension. No matter what i do i have loose bottom threads. It is better when i have the tension wheel set on 9 and have the bobbin tension fairly tight (bobbin takes a little force to lower when holding the thread). Is there anyway to add more tension to the top theead betond the tension wheel

I live in SE Colorado and there are very few repairmen. At present I have two sewing machines that won't work. One I bought at a thrift shop for $17 (it looks like a solid old machine) and the other I bought off ebay. both of these machines the needle will not go up and down. I bought a second machine off ebay, it still works but the thread keeps getting caught on the casing up above the tension area. it's frustrating to have to stop and get it out every little whip stitch. I so want to sew but am afraid to take it apart. The repairmen are either in Pueblo or the Springs and they want an arm and a leg to fix an old machine. I don't understand why. I really appreciate your putting out these videos. And you take the time to explain so much. I hope to try to fix my machines. The machine I grew up sewing on (Viking Husqvarna 6440) quit and I donated it to a thrift shop. Now I wish I still had it to try and fix. I'd heard that those machines had a lubricant that over time hardened and just need a modern lubricant and they would still sew. The things you learn after the fact. Thank you again. :)

I missed the last loop over the top before the needle. That was the 1st part of this video. Checking that loop I found that was my problem cause. It was jamming under in the bobbin area and hard to get the needle to move like your 2nd issue illustrated. Rerouting properly was the fix! Thank you!

hi, thank you for this great video! i like the singer 4423 as well, but mine has a foot control cable, that is way too short to sit and sew ergonomically: only 125 cm from the machine to the footcontrol. how long is yours?

Thank you, I am about to get into the industry this fall. I am currently involved in Vacuum Cleaners. I don't mind working with the machines but I blame my job on my heart infection I had. I have been really contemplating quitting since then. I just don't want to fix vacuums any more. This kind of work is what I am into. Nothing dirty at all. pretty cool little machines!!

As an industrial sewing machine mechanic for 20yrs I've only ever used Castrol Hyspin AWS10 light hydraulic oil for many years. Never had an issue ever on any machine industrial or domestic. Never use 3 in 1 oil. It has a vegetable component which gums up (goes sticky/hard over time). I've had to unstick many machines (mostly Domestic) over the years for this problem which sometimes requires complete soaking in diesel to free up machine.

In our brother sewing machine is not stitch properly what is the problem.

Has all the basic stitches and stretch-stitch for elastics. I'm considering Singer Heavy Duty 4452, as I will need to sew through leather and jeans occasionally. But I heard Singers break a lot (local sewing repair shop told me). Any suggestions pretty please?

How do you fix tension if the the tension is getting old and wearing out?

My decorative stitch knob doesn’t turn. Neither does the reverse lever work. I took it all apart, but was afraid to try to move the gears as they are plastic.

Hi, I have a sailrite machine, and once or twice on a run of stitches I get a loop on the bottom side, the top and bottom stitches look good other than the odd looped bottom stitch, please help, looked at the timing and needle position, and is perfect.?

I've worked as a sewing machine operator in 2 different factories. The factories I've worked for used compressed air to clean the machines several times a week. We just had to be careful not to let the compressed air hit the pool of machine oil underneath the machine or we'd have a huge mess to clean up.

Geez, just go pick up a 1970s era Kenmore 158 with all metal gears and a 1.2 amp motor for $50. Now THAT is "heavy duty."
